What's This?

New York City - November 2017

“What is it?” asked an older woman in a long brown puffy coat and black knit hat.
.
We then explained that we were drawing a clitoris and talked about Clitorosity. She nodded her head and smiled.
.
Then a couple of minutes later, she returned. “You have to make sure to write down what it is for people who don’t know.”
.
We told her how we write the @clitorosity tag before we go, so that people will have a place to go for the answer.
.
“Ok, good.” She said in relief.

Two incredible feminist forces joined for this drawing - Arielle Egozi is a writer, producer and witch, and Mia Davis is the founder of Tabu (@talk.tabu), a modern discovery platform for sex and health.

Mia: “I started @talk.tabu so more people could take control of their bodies and relationships. Over $2B has gone toward abstinence-only "sex ed" programs over the last 30 years, which honestly puts us all at risk, but particularly impacts marginalized communities. Even if you're not sexually active, it is imperative to understand your body and remove shame from the tabú topics we're all so afraid to talk about. Knowledge is power and we want everyone to embrace their power and live their best lives! #cliterally”

Arielle: “I believe that feminism is for everyone, and so it must include the oppressions and struggles of everyone. There is no *feminism* without intersectionality. It is very important to me, and others who are underrepresented, that social movements — and the people in them — understand this.”
