Slow Down

New York City, NY - August 2017

A woman paused her walk to take a picture for us with the drawing.

“What do you think it is?” we asked as she tied her dog’s leash to the fence.

“I guess it means slow down, because there are a lot of kids playing around here.”

As a native NYC resident, she asked us where we were from and welcomed us to the city.

Before she walked away, she took one last look at the drawing. “It could also be telling people to slow down. You know, to enjoy themselves.”
